  • The national programme of Integrated Care and Support Pioneers aspires to encourage the ‘most ambitious and visionary’ local areas to become integration Pioneers which will drive change ‘at scale and pace, from which the rest of the country can benefit’. 
  • A long term evaluation of the Pioneers is being carried out by PIRU to help build the evidence in what works best in delivering quality integrated care in different contexts. A spreadsheet of high level indicators over time across the whole system of each Pioneer are available.

  • The EQ-5D is a standardised instrument designed for use as a generic measure of health outcome. An examination of the views of 436 members of the UK general public found that just over 40% of the survey respondents provided suggestions of aspects of health they considered important but not captured by the five EQ-5D dimensions. 
  • Sensory deprivation and mental health were the aspects most commonly mentioned.

  • An online tool of indictors on both health outcomes and factors affecting health developed to help councillors, local authority officers and partners in the health and wellbeing process to use the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment dataset to help choose local priorities for health improvement.
