Elective Care High Impact Interventions: First Contact Practitioner for MSK Services

• The Elective Care transformation programme has developed a specification for MSK clinical triage services which aims to reduce referrals for musculoskeletal services to secondary care. Patients with back and joint pain can contact the physiotherapist direct, rather than waiting to see a GP or getting a referral to hospital. 
• The specification includes a trajectory to support planned rollout for all adults in England by 2023/24.
