- The latest PWC Patients' Voice survey (2001 UK adults carried out in October 2017) examined attitudes towards access to health records. Findings include:
- 92% of people in the UK recognise the value in having their health records shared across the healthcare system.
- 80% have never accessed their own health records
- 30% would consider joining a new online service that allows them to share their health records with different healthcare organisations
- 44% do not trust healthcare app with their data, and 80% believe that health apps should not be allowed to access patients' records
- 41% do not trust online health companies with their healthcare data, and 84% believe that healthcare technology should not be allowed access to patients’ records
- 38% say that pharmacists should not have access to patient records
