- Electronic searches retrieved 4010 records of which 3209 were excluded, mostly because they did not contain original data but expressed personal opinion about the possible role of medical smartphone apps. 30 studies which included clinical data were analysed. Only one of the selected apps were available for live testing.
- Conclusions "The diagnostic evidence of available health apps on Apple’s and Google’s app stores is scarce. Consumers and healthcare professionals should be aware of this when using or recommending them."
