Highlights :

Note: The NHS England Business Plan 2017/18 – to be called Next Steps on the Five Year Forward View will be published on 31 March 2017. A number of questions posed at today’s board meeting were deferred as they will be answered in the plan.

5. NHS England’s Mandate and Business Plan for 2017-18
This paper presented the intentions of the NHS England Business Plan which will address the “what” and “how” of the FYFV.

6. Creating a Genomic Medicine Service to lay the foundations to deliver personalised interventions and treatments
One of the requirements of successful implementation of Genomic Medicine Service be a joint-commissioning model with CCGs to achieve standardisation, equity of access, economies of scale and the high quality required for the future.
Engagement with GPs around the implications of the GMS are starting now.

7. General practice services
An update of work on the General Practice Forward View.

12. Strengthening patient and public participation in NHS England
NHS England has published an updated Patient and Public Participation Policy for its internal use.
