- Workforce issues through tackling the underlying cause of the growth in use of agency staff
- Leveraging national buying power in particular use of consultancy firms
- The next steps to deliver the Five Year Forward View is based on addressing the three underpinning principles for change:
- closing the health and wellbeing gap (Diabetes Prevention Programme and obesity)
- closing the care and quality gap (Vanguard sites, New Care Models, "Success Regime")
- closing the funding and efficiency gap - aims for an extra 2 - 3% average annual net efficiency gain over the next period by
- Preventing and managing demand
- Maximising the value of spend
- Redesigning services
