NHS England, 10 March 2015
- A new workforce standard will require NHS organisations to demonstrate progress against a number of indicators of workforce equality, including a specific indicator to address the low levels of BME Board representation.
- There is also to be consultation on whether the (EDS2) should become mandatory.
- The WRES Standard and EDS2 will be included in the 2015/16 Standard NHS Contract and the CQC, NTDA and Monitor will use both standards to help assess whether NHS organisations are well-led.
- Discussions on how the Standard will apply to CCG workforces are planned but each CCG will need to demonstrate that they are giving due regard to using the indicators within their workforce and that of providers. (see Supplementary information for commissioner planning, 2015/16)
