Clinical commissioning collaborative formed

Northern CCGs form collaborative (HSJ 8 August 2013 Subscription required)

• Clinical commissioning groups in the North East and Cumbria have formed a collaborative group for joint contracting, system leadership and sharing expertise. 
• The Northern Clinical Commissioning Collaborative includes all 13 CCGs in that patch.
• The move involves no formal transfer of powers from the CCGs to the collaborative but is aimed at  “sharing agreed commissioning intentions and identifying common areas of approach with the aim of improving the quality of services”.
