Reform February 2017
- This paper evaluates recent governments’ approaches to workforce design across the NHS, education, central and local government and the police.
- Through interviews and analysis of public and private data the report concludes that the current workforce is a legacy of past approaches which fail to embrace technology and new ways of working to meet users’ needs in the most effective ways. It makes a number of recommendations around automation of administrative roles, reducing levels of management hierarchy, creating a learning environment and new recruitment patterns.
