  • This workforce think piece is not about the numbers in or even the reprofiling of the workforce, but primarily about a cultural change, a different way and mind set going forward to achieve for example:
    • flexible working across specialisms and care settings
    • support for service reconfiguration
    • the quality assurance of diagnostics in less traditional settings outside the hospital.
    • dissemination of innovative technologies at home and internationally
    • advocacy and leadership for healthcare science across the complex stakeholder landscape.

  • This mandate provides details of the strategic objectives of the Government in the areas of workforce planning, health education, training and development for which HEE and the LETBs have responsibility. It aligns with the mandate for NHS England and the Francis Report as well as the requirements of the NHS, Public Health and Social Care Outcomes Frameworks.
  • This mandate aligns with the Education Outcomes Framework (EOF), which sets out the outcomes we expect from the reformed education and training system.
