- A systematic review of the evidence around the impact of mobile devices to communicate with other healthcare workers identified 19 studies. It concludes mobile technologies may reduce the time between presentation and management of the health condition when primary care providers or emergency physicians use them to consult with specialists, may increase the likelihood of receiving a clinical examination among participants with diabetes and those who required an ultrasound and may reduce referrals to secondary or tertiary care. Concern is raised about data‐sharing and privacy
- Mobile technologies may have little or no impact on healthcare workers' and participants' satisfaction, health status or well‐being.
