iMPOWER Collaborative 15 March 2018
- Findings from the iMPOWER Collaborative which brought together 15 local authorities and their health partners to share best practice around investing the extra £2 billion of social care funding announced in the 2017 budget. The Collaborative evaluated the spending plans from the authorities against a simplified best practice model of the care system, showing opportunities for the NHS and Adult Social Care Departments to work together.
- This report argues that, whilst the funding has helped to meet demand within the system through reduced delayed transfers of care, sustainable change is only possible if the £2 billion is used to manage demand, not just meet it.
