HSCIC 12 February 2015
- This new annual report looks at NHS payments made to providers of general practice services in England in order for them to deliver services.
- These payments exclude invoices raised by providers that were paid directly from other sources, for example by NHS England Area Teams or Local Authority Public Health funding and take no account of the expenditure incurred in delivering services.
- The report shows that during 2013/14 the following payments were made:
- £7.6 billion to 8,060 general practice providers, an average of £136 per registered patient.
- £608 million (8.0 per cent) for premises.
- £982 million (12.9 per cent) for Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF), which covers services such as the management of chronic diseases and implementing preventative measures such as regular blood pressure checks.
- £620 million (8.1 per cent) for enhanced services, which covers services such as childhood vaccination and immunisation schemes, extended hours access and improving patient online access.
